Stirling Club members were honored to attend the annual Tony Bennett Heart Awards to benefit the VegasTennis.com's Marty Hennessy Jr. Tennis Foundation, which was held at the TAO Asian Bistro and Nightclub last Thursday. The private concert and event was produced by Clint Homes, and celebrated Tony Bennett's 83rd birthday.
The foundation works with and inspires at-risk youth by providing them mentorship through education and tennis. The foundation has successfully groomed 19 students, who have gone on to earn college scholarships. A portion of the proceeds also benefited USTA-Nevada youth tennis programs.
The event included appearances and performances by Rita Rudner, Clint Holmes, Mosaic (MTV band of the year), Ellie Smith (lead in Annie and Secret Garden), and Vinnie Falcone (former Sinatra pianist), and Tony Bennett. Jay Leno also made a surprise appearance. Event honorees included: Jeffrey and Rashae Taylor; Michael Flaherty (president and Founder of Walden Media and producer of Chronicles of Narnia); Sandy White; and Edgardo Ureta.
