Two New Lymphatic Massages In Las Vegas

Lymphatic Massage Las VegasMany people think that massaging facial skin might lead to wrinkles, but proper massage techniques will actually tighten the skin. It can also stimulate the underlying collagen, loosen and promote regeneration, and revitalize the lymphatic system.

Lymphatic Massages In Las Vegas.

The Stirling Club Spa in Las Vegas is proud to announce the addition of two new lymphatic massages. One is designed specifically to revitalize your face and the other can improve your overall health with detoxification.

Of course, lymphatic massage isn't new. The massage was put into practice in the early 1930s after Dr. Emil Vodder noticed that lymph nodes become swollen when patients are suffering from a chronic cold. This was revolutionary work, even in the French Riviera, primarily because the medical profession didn't truly understand the lymph system, immune system, and detoxification.

Lymphatic Massage.

Generally, lymphatic detoxification massages are gentle and concentrate on key regions and lymph nodes in the body. The reason this so important is that the lymphatic system produces fluids that help detoxify the body. Once the toxins are absorbed, the fluid is filtered though the lymph nodes, which removes bacteria and even cancer cells.

When the lymph nodes are overburdened, they struggle to filter new toxins. They also struggle to give passage to immune cells as needed. Tonsillitis is a good example of what happens when the body attempts to filter too much toxins or overproduce infection-fighting white blood cells.

The massage works by increasing the flow of cellular fluids through the lymphatic ystem, boosting the immune response, decreasing pain, reducing the appearance of scar tissue, and helping the body remove fibrotic tissues. In one sense, the massage helps wake up the system.

After your lymph massage, it's important to drink plenty of water as things get moving again. Most people will feel remarkably relaxed. If you feel off kilter (due to too many toxins), water (avoid salt) and movement can hurry the process along. Remarkably, this massage has been credited with medical as well as holistic improvements, ranging from optimal health to allergy relief to post-surgical care and cellulite.

Members can request 25-minute, 50-minute, and 80-minute massages. Rates range from $90 to $250.

Lymphatic Facial.

Lymphatic Massage Las VegasSimilar to the lymphatic massage, the acupressure lymphatic facial massage can stimulate the underlying collagen, loosen and promote regeneration, and stimulate the lymphatic system. The effects increase blood flow and oxygen to your face, which tightens the face and leaves you more relaxed and youthful.

The technique blends the ancient Chinese art of applying pressure to specific points on the body with the techniques originally developed by Dr Vodder. Regular lymphatic facial massages have been shown to help stimulate the lymph system, resulting in improved blood circulation and firmer, youthful, more radiant skin.

It can also help relax facial and neck muscles, reduce puffiness, remove wrinkles, diminish dark circles, and create a healthy glow. The facials are offered with 50-minute and 80-minute sessions. They range from $135 to $200.

There are other fall specials available. Members may inquire by calling 702-784-4616. Non-members interested in visiting the spa are encouraged to call Kathleen Gustafson at 702-784-4603. The Stirling Club Spa is the only private spa listed among the top ten spas in Las Vegas.

Five Summer Luxuries From Las Vegas

While Las Vegas usually attracts more than 3 million people every month during the summer, area residents sometimes find themselves spending much more time indoors. Even so, there some simple luxuries that can transform anyone's summer (whether you live in Las Vegas or not).

Most of these tips from our top five list include amenities that are exclusive to The Stirling Club Las Vegas. However, with a little bit of imagination, most of them can be adapted for almost any locality. From the simplest to the most extravagant, all five of these summer luxuries can help put any summer blues far away and behind you.

Five Luxuries For A Fun Las Vegas Summer.

Try A New Summer Drink Originally created by beverage director and sommelier Franklin Ferguson in Los Angeles, the Agave Negro remains a great summer cocktail. In a cocktail shaker, muddle two blackberries and then add ice, 1 1/2 ounces of Reposado tequila, 3/4 ounces of lime juice, 3/4 ounces of simple syrup, 1/2 ounces of Chambord and shake well. Pour into a rocks glass and stir in 1 ounce chilled club soda. Garnish with lime. Or, if you would like to try something else, ask our servers for suggestions.

Refresh Your Skin The Stirling Club is currently offering a 50-minute Swedish massage, followed by a 50-minute Spa Mediterranee red wine body treatment, including a red wine scrub, antioxidant wrap, and radiant red wine shea butter rub that will leave your skin radiant. What is especially unique about this spa treatment is that it helps protect the skin from UVB exposure, which is common under the Las Vegas summer sun.

Choose Your Pool. Spend a leisurely afternoon in the sparkling blue mosaic Stirling Club pool. The expansive lagoon pool is much more accessible than crowded pools at various hotels. Or, if you prefer a cooler climate, visit one of the monthly pool (billiards) tournaments hosted by member Marty Tunnel and sponsored by Siku Vodka. (The next scheduled tournament is Aug. 5).

Host A Summer Party. Host a summer party at The Stirling Club, and the Charlie Palmer Group will apply a portion of the event as a credit to any Stirling Club membership (interested members can contact Kathleen Gustafson for details). Depending on the size of the party, they can be booked in a private meeting room, charming Verandah Room or opulent Stirling Room. All parties are catered by the legendary team of renowned Chef Charlie Palmer.

Escape For A Day. While many people find the Las Vegas summer hot for too much outside fun, you can find some one-day outdoor adventures and still stay cooler. One such adventure is the only one-day Grand Canyon white water rafting trip on the nearby Hualapai Reservation.

Since its opening in 2001, The Stirling Club Las Vegas has become a premier destination to relax, meet with friends, and appreciate the finest that Las Vegas has to offer. While the club is private for members, special arrangements can made by contacting Kathleen Gustafson at 702-784-4603 for a private tour or pass for those considering membership.

It is the perfect opportunity to discover the best in leisure, dining, spa services, fitness, business, and social amenities. While enjoying the property, it's not uncommon to see the occasional celebrity already enjoying their membership.

Summer Tips And Spa Specials From The Stirling Club

Because Fiji is a blend of ancient cultures, most historians agree with local legend that the Fijian people came from Southeast Asia via the Malay Peninsula, where Melanesians and the Polynesians created a highly developed society.

European influences didn't come until much latter. But their influences, especially in the 20th century, established sugar, copra, and tourism as primary industries. Along with tourism, Fijian therapists living on hundreds of different islands began developing unique message techniques and exotic treatments.

Pure Fiji Honey And Coconut Milk Body Ritual

The Royal Fijian Ritual is one such treatment. It begins with a gentle sugar exfoliation, which makes the skin feel refreshed and soft. The sugar is blended with coconut oil to ensure the skin remains moist while creating a rich, tropical scent.

Next, the treatment includes rich coconut milk and honey butter, which is wrapped in soft, heated towels. The blend is specifically designed to hydrate and nourish the skin, which is especially beneficial in Las Vegas' dry summer months.

The treatment concludes with a traditional Fijian coconut scalp massage, which restores the life and shine in your hair. (The Stirling Club Spa has made special arrangements to offer the scalp massage with any spa treatment on request.)

The Pure Fiji Honey And Coconut Milk Body Ritual is available through Aug. 31. Please allow one hour for the package that will leave you completely relaxed and restore your energy. To schedule an appointment, call 702-784-4616.

Some Other Helpful Las Vegas Summer Sunscreen Tips.

• Limit your exposure to the sun in Las Vegas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., even though Las Vegas generally feels the hottest just prior to sunset.

• Always choose a sunscreen with a 15 SPF or higher. Makes sure it includes a broad spectrum of ultraviolet light protection, regardless of cloud coverage.

• If you know how long it takes before your bare skin will burn, divide that number by the number of minutes you intend to be exposed in direct sunlight.

• The EPA has developed a new UV Index App that can be downloaded to your phone. This is especially useful in Las Vegas, which the Las Vegas Sun reports has the highest UV levels in the nation.

Desert Rejuvenation Makes The Perfect Spring Break

While spa treatments aren't in the news as much these days, they can still be critical for people attempting to balance their lives. Two studies conducted within the last five years all but confirm it.

One linked spa treatments to better physical and mental health, better quality sleep, and fewer sick days. Another found spa therapy reduced absenteeism from work and hospitalizations. And while some benefits are debated, most studies confirm that spa treatments help reduce stress much like longer vacations without the added cost.

A Desert Rejuvenation Spa Treatment In Las Vegas

Through April 30, The Stirling Club Spa provides the perfect 80-minute getaway that will feel like three weeks. The springtime treatment begins with a 30-minute Mountain Glow salt scrub with lavender and tangerine. The combination exfoliates, softens, moisturizes, and nourishes the skin, protecting it from the arid desert climate.

More than that, the combination of lavender and tangerine is special on its own as an aromatherapy aid with healing powders. Lavender oils are known to soothe headaches, heal irritations, and relax the body. Tangerine oil also has aroma properties.

The initial scrub is followed by a 50-minute lavender aromatherapy massage, using oils that are 100 percent botanical formulations with no artificial fragrances. All products are environmentally safe, made with the purest grades and highest quality standards.

For Stirling Club members, this special springtime rejuvenating treatment is $100, with most package treatments completed within two hours. In between sessions, patrons are invited to relax in a European-style facility with light snacks and teas. Non-members are invited to check for availability with the spa front desk at 702-784-4616.

Valentine's Day In Las Vegas

Las Vegas doesn't always come to mind when most editors create their top ten romantic city lists, but it could make the cut with the right imagination and attention to detail. Included below are four custom-created experiences for couples to enjoy on Valentine's Day in Las Vegas. Enjoy.

Four Delights For Valetine's Day In Las Vegas.

2. A Sweetheart Adventure At Red Rock Canyon.

• Take a short ride west of the Las Vegas Strip to Red Rock Canyon, which includes a scenic 13-mile drive with picnic areas and hiking trails along the dramatic backdrop of red sandstone. The scenic drive is open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Feb. 28. Admission is $5.

• For a memorable wild west-style adventure, choose one of the area's horseback riding tours from Vegas Horseback Tours. The tour operators feature several rides with breakfast, lunch, or dinner included. Most tours are approximately four hours long. Prices range from $109 to $139 per person.

3. A French Connection On The Las Vegas Strip.

4. Rediscover Each Other At Wynn Las Vegas.

• If anyone is still undecided where to stay, Wynn Las Vegas features a two-night package that includes a round of golf on a Tom Fazio/Steve Wynn 18-hole golf course, and lunch for two at the Country Club (starting at $625 per night).

• While there, enjoy a romantic walk through the botanical gardens and bright atrium at Wynn. Along with the gardens, take some time to enjoy the Lake of Dreams, one of the most unforgettable complimentary attractions on the Las Vegas Strip. (Free.)

• Le Reve, which is one of the top shows on the Strip, also has a Valentine's Day special. It includes VIP seating, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and truffles, and complimentary entrance at Blush or Tyrst. ($179 per person.)

As a bonus suggestion for the perfect Valetine's Day in Las Vegas, make an early date on Feb. 13 at the Creative Cooking School of Las Vegas. The proposed gourmet menu, which couples can cook together, includes maple glazed Cornish game hen with a morel cherry sauce. ($99 per person.)

For more Valetine's Day creations or assistance with reservations, members may call The Stirling Club concierge. Men might also be surprised to find that while every woman is unique, most prefer a shared experience over gifts.

Members visiting from other cities are encouraged to make reservations this week. Some choices above may also have a dress code.

A Stirling Solution For Holiday Stress

While not everyone knows it, taking a few minutes or hours to find a breather during the holidays can make a big difference. It's especially important for women, who tend to take on more holiday responsibilities and more worries.

Seven in ten women say they worry about finances. More than half worry about their weight. And about three in ten are worried they have to stand in long lines while shopping for last minute gifts.

These statistics tend to mirror another study conducted just this year. Lindt, a master Swiss chocolatier, found 87 percent of women feel that taking time for themselves improves their overall mood during the holidays, but 93 percent will push aside free time for something else.

No wonder more than one in four women hope for a gift "experience" during the holidays. Scheduled "experiences" are much harder to push aside and less likely to be interrupted.

A Stirling Solution For Stress.

Through Dec. 31, The Stirling Spa is adapting a centuries old ritual from the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific to hydrate, nourish, and rejuvenate the skin and hair using pure coconut milk and honey. The treatment begins with a gentle sugar exfoliation with warm coconut oil and cane sugar, is followed by a rich milk and body butter, and ends with a warm towel body wrap.

This seasonal special includes a traditional Fujian scalp massage, with special care to restore the shine and life to hair. The treatment is $130 for 60 minutes for members. Non-members are invited to make special arrangements with Kathleen Gustafson, executive membership director.

The Fiji Coconut Milk Body Ritual is perfect for lifting anyone's spirits during the holidays or as a gift before the New Year. In addition to regular spa hours, the Stirling Spa will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Other holiday specials include 20 percent off Swedish or therapeutic deep massages during select hours, a specially-priced warm gingerbread delight body package or, before and after Dec. 31, ask about the new Arabian message, which is popular for jet lag and (holiday) recovery.

A Top Ten Spa In Las Vegas

Earlier this year, The Stirling Club was distinguished as one of the top ten spas in Las Vegas. The review was featured in Orbtiz, a leading online travel company offering leisure and business travelers.

"Impressively spacious and well maintained, The Stirling Club has the intimacy and service level of a private club … since it is one." — E.C. Gladstone for Orbitz

While Orbitz highlighted the dramatically lit sauna and steam rooms, spacious whirlpool bath, waterfall showers, and enclosed fitness lap pool, members frequently marvel at the 14 treatment rooms where they receive therapeutic massages, rejuvenating facials, and detoxifying body wraps.

Other spas rounding out the top of the list: Encore; Caesars Palace; Bellagio; Canyon Ranch Spa at the Venetian; Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa; and Green Valley Ranch. But what made the Stirling Club stand out was the rarity of quietly opening private club facilities to non-members.

October Spa Special — Pumpkin Pie Special

In October, The Stirling Club is offering a seasonal special for members that also serves as an excellent spa introduction for visiting guests. The Pumpkin Pie special takes advantage of the pumpkin, which is known to have remarkable therapeutic properties, including natural UV protectors, powerful anti-inflammatory benefits, and exfoliant properties that are especially beneficial for people with sensitive skin.

• 25-minute gentle Mediterranean body exfoliation, which increases circulation, adds nutrients, and regenerates the skin. This special employs a special pumpkin pie brown sugar blend, laced with ginger.
• 25-minute body nourishing pumpkin pie body wrap, which tightens, tones, and stimulates your metabolism to help fitness.
• 50-minute Swedish massage, with superficial and deep effleurage using Whipped Shea Pumpkin Body Butter.
• 50-minute facial, which adds a Pumpkin Enzyme mask, rich in antioxidants, to the luxuriously classic Stirling Creation Facial.

The special will be available through Nov. 30. Please allow 2 1/2 hours to complete the package. For details, please call 702.784.4616.
